It was great can't wait to go back

This was our third time staying at the resort, but unfortunately, it will likely be our last—we’re planning to try Kalahari next year. To start, check-in took over an hour, which we’ve never experienced here before. The room itself was clean, but several other aspects of the stay were disappointing. Our favorite Italian restaurant is no longer there, and the Spanish restaurant has very limited options for kids. Food throughout the resort was a major letdown. At the waterpark, we waited 30 minutes in line and another 30 minutes for the food, only to spend $80 on a packaged Caesar salad, four drinks, an extremely unappetizing cheeseburger, and some chicken tenders with fries. The ice machines weren’t working, so all of our drinks were warm. The brick oven pizza was also very poor quality. Not to mention, the outrageous prices for simple things like water in the lobby. As well as, no water offered in the rooms. To me, that’s very greedy. Even simple things like ice cream were frustrating, the ice cream was so hard it took a long time just for the employee to scoop a few servings. Breakfast was another disappointment: we paid around $100 for our family, and the food was not appealing or enjoyable. There were also no non-pork options, which left us with essentially just eggs at $20 per person. One double toaster accommodating a whole resort buffet. There was no night skiing available, and when we asked for information, staff directed us to the website instead of helping us directly. The waterpark also seemed much dirtier than in previous visits, and we all felt sick after returning home. It’s really upsetting because this is a beautiful resort, but the lack of good food and service made the experience frustrating. We ended up DoorDashing most of our meals. Even the lobby coffee shop was consistently slow and overcrowded, despite us visiting Sunday through Tuesday expecting a quieter stay. Overall, this visit was a big disappointment compared to our previous experiences.
