Join us at Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark for our new swim lesson program! We’re offering one-on-one lessons for children ages 2-15, focusing on water safety in a fun environment. Lessons are daily from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM, lasting 45 minutes to an hour. We also offer family and friends lessons on Wednesday and Friday nights from 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM (max 10 people). Please arrive 15 minutes early for prep time.

Parents, we’ve got you covered too! While your kids have a blast splashing around, you can relax on the side and enjoy the fun atmosphere. For more information on the lessons and exploration class, please click here.

Lil’ Guppies – Introduction

Learn the basic water skills like being comfortable without a parent and safe in the water

Become a lil guppie with the help of our lifeguards

Minnows – Stroke Readiness

Learn the basic understanding of elementary water skills (floating, hand & leg movement) and elements of swimming

Learning movement in the water with a good understanding of key strokes like the backstroke, butterfly, and more

Water Exploration & Safety

Introduce your child and yourself to water safety and basic water skills. This is not a lesson, but a class meant to allow your child to explore the water

Lessons EXPLAINED

Lessons will be 1 hour with a 10 – 15 min evaluation for first-time participants.

When you arrive for your lesson, please meet outside of Guest Services and a staff member will meet you to bring you to the lesson area.

Lessons are daily from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM, lasting 45 minutes to an hour. We also offer family and friends lessons on Wednesday and Friday nights from 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM (max 10 people). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the lesson time to have enough time to get ready. The changing area and bathrooms are located near the Wavepool.

The lessons are available for: 2-5 years (parent is required to participate in class) and 2-14 years old

Based on skill level and the size of class, the classes will be located in the Olympic Pool or Wavepool at Camelbeach.

The child and the parent can add-on a discounted ticket to Camelbeach for your lesson day. You can also purchase additional Camelbeach day tickets during checkout.

Each person will be split into the skill level they have. We will have four levels: Water Exploration & Safety for parent and child, Lil’ Guppies (Preschool), Minnows (Beginner), and Barracudas (Advanced Beginner). We will also offer private lessons for one-to-one instruction or a family and friends lesson where two families can learn together with a maximum of ten people in the lesson.

The lesson schedule:

Lessons start on Wednesday, June 18 and end Wednesday, September 18, 2025.
Family and Friend lessons available Wednesdays and Fridays (after the park closes 7:15pm-8:15pm)
Lessons are daily from 10am – 11am and 7:15pm – 8:15pm, lasting 45 minutes to an hour.

Want to know which lesson type is best for you?

The goal of the Lil’ Guppies lesson is to help you learn floating and breath control techniques, along with front crawl, front and back floats, and glides with flutter kicks.
The minnows lesson will teach you the breaststroke, backstroke, elementary backstroke, and front crawl with arms/face technique. You will also learn to jump in and swim front crawl and then turn on their backs and swim elementary stroke for a distance of 25 yards.
Barracudas will teach you to front crawl with rhythmic breathing and increase distance of swim to 50 yards and scissor kicks, sidestroke arms, and front/back glide with kick.
Water Exploration and Safety will introduce you to water safety and basic water skills, along with becoming comfortable with putting your head and face in the water.
