Kartrite Expedition Journal Entry #1-05 Day 9
Our adrenaline-pumping, we paddled toward the growing sound of thunder. The current had become too strong to try and make our way back up stream. The Peruvian shoreline was covered in jagged rocks preventing us from disembarking. We were committed to riding this river to the end.
Then a sound resembling a herd of elephants jogging grew more intense until we felt our feet fall out from underneath us. I took one deep breath as a grand waterfall dropped out 60 meters below us. It was the only way down.
