Female White-tailed Deer

Location: Pennsylvania Forests The white-tailed deer was named because the underside of its tail is covered in white hair and is easily seen as they sprint through the forest at speeds up to 40 mph. White-tailed deer are extremely common throughout Pennsylvania. They prefer to stay near forests and around vegetation which affords them protection from predators. Deer are social creatures and can often be seen feeding and traveling together and are mostly active during dawn and dusk
