Aquatopia

Yes, lockers are available at the indoor waterpark and ski­-in & ski­-out check­-in area for a nominal fee.  We recommend keeping any larger items in your room or vehicle.

All children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Although there are certified lifeguards on duty, parents are encouraged to stay with their children at all times regardless of age. The waterparks and other amenities contain features and elements that are not suitable for a child’s unsupervised participation.

Towels are provided at Aquatopia indoor waterpark for you to use. A towel program has been implemented, please ask guest services if you have any questions.

Aquatopia is 125,000 square feet and features a transparent roof, which allows sunlight in and the opportunity to tan year round. 13 slides, a wavepool, an adventure river, multi­level play and spray structures, toddler area, simulated surfing experience and food and beverage services, including a swim-­up bar round out the action and adventures. Best of all – the temperature is always 84°.

  • Venus SlydeTrap Waterslide is the only combination slide of its kind in the World.
  • Storm Chaser Water Coaster is the longest indoor water coaster slide in the World.
  • The Adventure River runs underground and is a highly themed attraction everyone will enjoy. 
  • Aquatopia is illuminated at night, but gently, to make the waterpark feel like evening. It’s purely magical and unlike any other in the U.S.A.!

Aquatopia and Camelbeach reserves the right to close slides and attractions throughout the day due to weather, staffing, and the safety and security of our guests and employees.

If you will be arriving by car, at the lodge a standard overnight self-parking is $25 per night/vehicle plus tax, which will be applied at check in. Permit must be displayed until departure and is valid in all lots. For day guests visiting the Ski Mountain, Aquatopia, Snowtubing Park, Camelbeach or Mountain Adventures there is a $10 fee to park and at the Ski Mountain/Camelbeach there is $30-40 for premium parking lots (rates vary and depend upon availability) – follow payment instructions on lot signage. Lodge guests please display your parking permit which will be issued at check in.

This parking policy gives the ability to ensure that we may offer appropriate and safe parking for all of our guests, monitor/control the flow of traffic and assist in continuing to make parking lot improvements at the resort. Ensuring a smooth and safe process for all our guests.

  • Waterpark locker rooms and Waterpark common areas are cleaned and disinfected utilizing CDC approved disinfectant throughout the resort.
  • Chaise lounge chairs and Cabanas will be electrostatically sanitized overnight.
  • Cabanas to be pressure washed and sanitized each night.
  • Sanitize high frequency touch points (Door handles, push plates, thresholds and hand railings, tables and chairs, trash cans, etc) will be continuously sanitized.

Park hours vary by the date and occupancy. Hours and other waterpark information will be available if you view the Hours of Operation page or call the lodge call center at (855­) 515­-1283.

Outside food & beverage is not permitted inside Aquatopia. Restaurant and concession seating areas are for Lodge Food and Beverage use only. Outside food and beverage, pizza parties or small group gatherings, are not permitted in these areas, unless authorized through the Camelback Lodge Group Sales office. If the food was purchased inside the hotel we will allow it inside Aquatopia as long as it’s not inside a glass container. There is no glass whatsoever allowed inside the waterpark. We do allow sealed bottles of water and baby formula (as long as it’s not in a glass container).

Before you come

Skiing and snowboarding can be very physically demanding sports. If you are an athletic person that plays sports, chances are that you are in pretty good condition to ski or ride. Just remember to pace yourself. You do not have to push yourself to the limits. If you get tired, take a break and catch your breath, this way you can get your second wind and get out there again and again.

Clothing that will absorb water. Stay away from the denim jeans and knit gloves. If these articles of clothing get wet they will not dry fast. Just remember Wet = Cold and Cold = No Fun.

Playing in the snow at Camelback, whether you’re skiing, snowboarding or tubing, is fantastic winter fun! Dressing to stay warm is the secret to an enjoyable day at Camelback in the Winter.  Read our how to dress guide below:

Dress in Several Thin Layers
The first layer should be a wicking material to keep moisture away from the skin. For colder days, a fleece top or jacket, or a cotton turtleneck make a good second layer. Kids’ feet should stay dry too! Moisture-wicking socks work great for this purpose. Kids should wear one pair of socks, not more. Multiple pairs wrinkle and bunch up in the boot, causing discomfort.

Waterproof Pants & Jacket
Staying dry while playing in the snow is of the utmost importance. Once the clothes are wet, staying warm is virtually impossible. Remember, there is a difference between “water resistant” clothing and “waterproof” clothing. You can’t always tell by looking. The product descriptions will specify what level of water protection the clothing provides. Depending on how cold it is, you might want to have your child’s pants and jacket both waterproof and insulated for warmth. In Spring conditions, insulation might be too warm.

Waterproof Gloves or Mittens 
Just like clothing, not all gloves or mittens are waterproof. The product description will specify if they are waterproof. It has been our experience that mittens are better for young kids. Once kids are old enough to have the dexterity to benefit from each finger, gloves may be a better choice.  Mittens are always warmer than gloves.

Goggles or Sunglasses with UV400 Protection
Children may not be as interested as adults are in the fashion aspect of “fashion eyewear”. But because kids spend much more time than most adults do outdoors and in direct sunlight, protecting kids’ eyes from ultraviolet light is especially important.
In fact, many experts believe that our eyes get 80 percent of their total lifetime exposure to the sun’s UV rays by age 18. Since excessive lifetime exposure to UV radiation has been linked to the development of cataracts/other eye problems, it’s never too early for kids to begin wearing good quality sunglasses or goggles outdoors. Lenses in kids’ sunglasses should be clearly marked as capable of providing 100 percent UV protection, with UV400 rated lenses.  For many people, goggles are a necessity when it’s snowing or windy.  In very cold weather they provide added warmth by covering the face.  Additionally, since they attach to the helmet, they are less likely to get lost than sunglasses.

Helmet (for Skiing and Snowboarding)
For all the same reasons your children wear bike helmets, ski helmets are essential for winter safety. If your child wears a ski helmet, remember you may have to raise your voice more to get their attention because the helmet may impede their hearing. Make sure the helmet fits correctly. A ski helmet is not an item you buy for your child to grow into. Educate your child about the benefits and limitations of the helmet. Wearing a helmet doesn’t give permission to ski/snowboard faster or recklessly. If you’re unable to buy one, we do rent helmets for kids.  Call our Snowsports School to learn more. If you’re not planning on using a helmet be sure to wear a warm hat. Kids should wear a hat or headband; 80 percent of heat-loss is through the head.

Plenty of Sunscreen and/or Face Covering
Be sure kids wear sun protection, even on cloudy days. The sun reflects off the snow and is stronger than you think! A ski vacation with a sun burn is no fun, trust us. Sunscreen also reduces evaporation and therefore helps prevent frostbite on very cold days.  A balaclava, face mask or scarf is the best protection against frostbite.  Lastly, winter air is very dry which greatly increases the chance of chapped lips. Plenty of lip balm is a necessity to avoid chapped lips!

It’s tempting to borrow equipment from friends or family, especially when the boots actually seem to fit your feet. But you’re better off renting. Here’s why: all of our beginner equipment is designed for beginners specifically. They’re specifically engineered to turn more easily and are more forgiving than either upper level or budget equipment. Our rental staff will make sure that your boots will properly match your feet; if you need a half size up or down, we can accommodate you. Your first time out should be enjoyable and productive. The beginner packages we offer at our ski resort include ski or snowboard rental equipment specifically matched to your size and stature. If any of the Camelback rental equipment doesn’t fit or feel right, come back to the rental shops to exchange for equipment that fits and feels correct.

Hearing Accessible Rooms: Features include visual alarm and notification devices for the doorbell and incoming telephone calls.

Camelbeach

You’ll find both changing rooms and showers at Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. No one ever wants to leave, but the ride home is a little more enjoyable in dry clothes. Check out the Park Map to find our changing areas and restrooms.

If you want to save time, you should pre-plan and purchase tickets, cabana, and picnic tables online ahead of time. Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark is your one-stop-shop for all things Camelbeach. To start, you can buy general tickets, Four For Fun tickets, and twilight tickets today and print them out at home, so when you arrive at the amusement park, your party can walk directly to the gate without waiting in the ticket line. Season passes and season pass forms can be accessed at home directly from the website as well. 

One of the most important places for families inside the amusement park is our “Locker Booth.” There, you can rent a locker or stroller. You may view where the Locker Booth is located by accessing our park map.

You may, but please know that the floatation devices you bring must meet US Coast Guard standards, so air-filled swimmies are not sufficient. However, we have plenty of lifejackets available throughout the park, free for your use! Speaking of swimmer safety, please observe all height restrictions, and take comfort in knowing that Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark is 100% compliant with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act.

ELECTRONIC LOCKERS

$10/$15. Accepts credit cards directly, and the whole family can know the personal PIN number that you set. You may use your electronic locker all day!

No key is necessary, so you won’t have to carry a key with you all day!

Electronic lockers are located in 3 places throughout the park: adjacent to the main gate, the hallway next to the Locker Booth, and in the Annex Changing Rooms.

ACCEPTANCE OF THIS TICKET CONSTITUTES A CONTRACT. THE CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT ARE SET FORTH BELOW AND WILL PREVENT OR RESTRICT YOUR ABILITY TO SUE CAMELBACK

This Contract is between Camelback Resort, its Owners, Operators and Lessors: CMBK Resort Holdings, LLC, CMBK Resort Operations, LLC, KSL Camelback Management, LLC, EPT Ski Properties, Inc., the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and their respective owners, officers, directors, partners, members, investors, operators, management companies, agents, servants and employees (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Camelback”).

I understand and acknowledge that the recreational activities, and use of all associated equipment, rented or otherwise, at Camelback involve inherent risks and other risks associated with the participation in such activities, all of which can result in or cause serious and even fatal injuries.  I further understand and acknowledge that there are inherent and other risks in winter sports, including the sports of skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing, and other snow-related activities (hereinafter referred to collectively as “winter sports”), including the use of lifts and other forms of conveyance. These risks include, but are not limited to, slip-and-falls, variations in snow, steepness and terrain, trail side drop-offs, ice and icy conditions, moguls, rocks, trees, and other forms of forest growth or debris (above or below the surface), bare spots, lift towers, utility lines, poles and guy wires, snowmaking equipment and component parts, trail fences and control nets, and the absence of such fences and nets, Terrain Park features and elements (such as halfpipe, jumps, rails, rollers, hits, etc.), and other forms of natural or manmade obstacles on and/or off designated trails, as well as collisions with equipment, including snowmobiles, obstacles or other skiers, participants or observers.  I understand trail fences are located along the side of some but not all of the trails, as well as along paths and walkways; such fences are not designed to protect you from injury if you run into them or go through, over or under them.  Likewise, I understand trail conditions, paths and walkways vary constantly because of weather changes and skier use.  I understand that a helmet does NOT ELIMINATE THE RISK of injury or death and helmets have only limited capability for shock absorption and that, although the helmet may reduce or mitigate the severity of injuries to the head, it is not a guarantee of the participant’s safety.  I understand that all of the inherent and other risks of participating in winter sports present the risk of injury, including death, that winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing are DANGEROUS, risk sports, and that injuries can be serious and even fatal.  Lastly, I understand and acknowledge there are inherent risks in the participation in or on any amusement ride, device or attraction (hereinafter “amusement ride(s)”) at Camelback.  I understand that patrons of amusement rides, by participation, accept the risks inherent in such amusement rides of which the ordinary prudent person is or should be aware.  I understand I have a duty to exercise good judgment and act in a responsible manner while using the amusement rides and to obey all oral or written warnings, prior to or during participation.  I also understand I have a duty to refrain from participating in or on any amusement rides while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Finally, I understand I have a duty to properly use all amusement ride safety equipment.

CAUTION- Some or all of our amusement rides may not be suitable for patrons with heart conditions or neck or back problems or pregnant women.  Please know your limitations.  If you choose to participate, you do so at your own risk. 

IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING ALLOWED TO USE CAMELBACK’S FACILITIES, I AGREE THAT I WILL NOT SUE CAMELBACK AND WILL RELEASE CAMELBACK FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY IF I OR ANY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY IS INJURED WHILE USING ANY OF THE CAMELBACK FACILITIES OR WHILE BEING PRESENT AT THE FACILITIES, EVEN IF I CONTEND THAT SUCH INJURIES ARE THE RESULT OF NEGLIGENCE, SOLE OR JOINT, INCLUDING GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY OTHER IMPROPER CONDUCT FOR WHICH A RELEASE IS NOT CONTRARY TO PUBLIC POLICY, ON THE PART OF CAMELBACK. I FURTHER AGREE THAT I WILL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS CAMELBACK FROM ANY LOSS, LIABILITY, DAMAGE OR COST OF ANY KIND THAT MAY OCCUR AS THE RESULT OF ANY INJURY TO MYSELF, TO ANY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY OR TO ANY PERSON FOR WHOM I AM SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF IT IS CONTENDED THAT SUCH INJURIES ARE THE RESULT OF NEGLIGENCE, SOLE OR JOINT, INCLUDING GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY OTHER IMPROPER CONDUCT FOR WHICH A RELEASE IS NOT CONTRARY TO PUBLIC POLICY, ON THE PART OF CAMELBACK. I FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS AGREEMENT EXTENDS TO MY PRESENCE AT CAMELBACK PURSUANT TO ALL COMPLIMENTARY, PURCHASED, TRADES, EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTED AND VOLUNTEER DISCOUNTED TICKETS OR ANY OTHER TICKETS, PASSES, OR CARDS, PROMOTIONAL OR OTHERWISE, THAT I HAVE OR MAY OBTAIN.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if I sue Camelback, I agree that I will only bring suit, whether it be on my own behalf or on behalf of a family member, in the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County or in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and further agree that any and all disputes which might arise between Camelback and myself and/or my family member(s) shall be litigated exclusively in one of said Courts.   I understand and agree that this Agreement Not to Sue is governed by the laws of Pennsylvania.  I further agree that if any part of this Agreement Not to Sue is determined to be unenforceable, all other parts shall be given full force and effect.

THE PURCHASER OR USER OF ANY TICKET, WHETHER TO PARTICIPATE IN A SPORT OR AMUSEMENT RIDE, VOLUNTARILY ASSUMES THE INHERENT RISKS OF INJURY WHILE PARTICIPATING IN SAID SPORT OR THE RISKS IDENTIFIED WITH PARTICIPATING IN SAID AMUSEMENT RIDE.

Camelbeach Pennsylvania amusement park hosts full service dining at Big Pocono, Boardwalk Smokehouse, East Side Pit Stop, Cleo’s Café, where you can enjoy fresh salads, wraps, chicken fingers, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, cheesesteaks, and succulent BBQ. Also, snacks, treats, and beverage stands are located throughout the park. The majority of our food outlets are centrally located right in the heart of the park, making it convenient to satisfy the choosiest eaters.

Please note that all bags are searched before they are permitted into the family waterpark. Please view policy PDF to acquaint yourself with the Outside Food & Beverage Policy. Other items which are permissible include towels, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Life jackets are available for free throughout the amusement park but are distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Not to worry. At any given moment, Camelbeach employs over 200 staff members throughout the waterpark, trained for emergencies and ready to answer any questions. Our award-winning lifeguard team is specifically trained and frequently audited by an independent company to ensure that service and safety standards are practiced. If you need a bandage or medical attention for any reason, First-Aid is located adjacent to Pipeline Pizza and is always staffed.

Cloudy or rainy days are great days to visit Camelbeach Waterpark!  The lines are usually so short, you’ll think you’re the only one in the park. Plus, all of our water rides are kept at a comfortable temperature level, so if you’re contemplating a weekend getaway and the day’s forecast isn’t perfect… think of those short lines and enjoy your time at the biggest waterpark in PA!

While we have an attentive staff and a great system in place, nothing beats having your own plan. Right in the heart of our park, you’ll find a five foot tall, stone Camel Statue laying on the sand underneath the palm trees. This is a perfect place to rendezvous in the event that you unintentionally become separated from your loved ones.

Here are some helpful hints right from our Security Team:

Take a deep breath…we’re on it! Most individuals are reunited within fifteen minutes.

As a family or group, pre-determine a meeting area in the event that you become separated.

If you are coming to the park with young children, take a moment to identify the various staff members and uniforms that you see. Also, take the extra minute to remind your children what you are wearing, as this will greatly assist our efforts in picking you out from the crowd.

Did we mention to take a deep breath? There is only one way in and one way out, and the exit is always staffed.

Unfortunately, it’s not all that uncommon for family or group members to become separated from one another while at Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark – it’s a good-sized park, and there are many enticing distractions, like ice cream and waterslides. Fortunately, Camelbeach has a fantastic, attentive staff, and we have a great procedure in place to minimize any anxiety and to expedite a happy reunion.

Camelbeach staff members are easily identifiable; each and every park manager wears a light blue golf shirt and carries a radio. Lifeguards and waterpark attendants wear either red or blue swim suits with well-branded t-shirts, and our security team is dressed in orange Camelbeach t-shirts which read SECURITY across the front. All these team members, including our food and beverage department, are in constant communication.

As soon as any staff member recognizes that an individual may have become separated from a group, or has that “uh-oh, I-can’t-find-my-parents” look in their eyes, we will immediately call by radio to Security. Without hesitation, one of our security members (we have both male and female) will go to the individual and stay with them until they are reunited. Security will go with the individual to the Camel Statue.

Some of the best days of summer start off with a questionable weather forecast. When it’s cloudy, crowds are at a minimum, the lines are short & there is even a chance you might get wet. What a great day to visit Camelbeach!

While we don’t offer a refund on tickets, we do make your visit risk free by assuring you that if we suspend operations due to lightning in the area for more than 90 minutes, you will receive a complimentary ticket to come back at a later date.

Here’s what you need to know: In the event the waterpark fully suspends operations on all rides for a total of 90 consecutive minutes, complimentary tickets will be issued.

Everyone in your party needs to have their proof of admission that day, either a ticket purchased at Camelbeach or online. All members of your party must be present with their proof of admission and all of their belongings, as receiving the return visit ticket will forfeit the rest of your day’s visit.

Did somebody say CABANA? One of our 41 private cabanas is absolutely the ideal spot to set up shop with your family. Cabanas are conveniently located around the Kahuna Lagoon Wavepool, Pharaoh’s Phortress, and the Olympic Pool. These Cabanas come in two sizes; regular sized cabanas that accommodate up to six people, while our deluxe cabanas can accommodate up to ten people. Supplies are limited, so if a Cabana interests you, be sure to reserve yours online before your visit. And let’s not forget that food and beverage service is provided!

Before you hit the slides, Camelbeach Pocono Resort does have one recommendation; there are a lot of attractions out there, so it’s always a good idea to pre-determine a meeting spot in the event that you get separated. At the base of the bridge that leads into Camel Cove, you will find our Camel statue which makes a great spot to meet back up with your family or to designate as a fallback location if your party becomes separated.

Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark requires that all guests wear appropriate swimwear. Proper swimwear is defined as a properly fitting and covering, one or two piece swimsuit or shorts that stop above or just below the knees. Thong bottoms, cut-offs, and suits with excessive buckles, rivets, and zippers are not permitted. Children must use diaper covers while enjoying the waterpark attractions.

Also, you and your family will probably be most comfortable if you wear water shoes or flip-flops. Cubbies are conveniently located throughout the amusement park to store footwear while you enjoy the water rides. If you happen to forget something at home, you can stop by The Loft at Camelbeach for all your waterpark essentials and Camelbeach souvenirs. Clothing and tattoos must not depict or display any lewd, offensive, or vulgar pictures and/or language. Turning clothing inside out so as to conceal these offenses is not permissible.

At Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark, we have tried to think of everything to make your day a little easier. To start, we have plenty of bathrooms located throughout the amusement park. Facilities are well marked and our staff monitors them throughout the day to keep them clean and fresh.

Yes. Face coverings are required in all Public Areas at the resort, this includes indoor and outdoor areas. Camelback Resort is following all CDC and state guidelines. It is now required by the state of Pennsylvania. The only exception to this is when you are seated at a table to eat or drink, if you are seated at a table without food or beverage you must wear a face covering.

Yes and Yes again! Under the new Camelback Ski & Ride Academy, we have SnowPro Group and SnowPro Private lessons. These lessons will be located at Mountain Village (formerly known as Camelback Ski Mountain Base Area). These will be available for purchase online.

Yes and Yes! A new location was decided on for Kids Learning Center which has also been renamed SnowClub Kids Lessons under Camelback Ski & Ride Academy. All lines for ski school will form outside of the Adventure Basecamp building (formerly known as Camelback Mountain Adventures). For SnowClub, children only with one parent/guardian will be permitted inside. Face coverings are required. Six feet of physical distancing will be maintained at all times. Only members of the same household are permitted to ride the chair lift together. Students and instructors will ride on the opposite side of the quad when possible. All equipment and facilities will be regularly sanitized and disinfected.

We continue to follow Pennsylvania Skier Association and PA State guidance. Currently there are no restrictions for occupancy. With over 167 skiable acres with 39 trails at Camelback and each trial averages 4 acres there is plenty of space for everyone to practice physical distancing. We plan to open all Snow sports on Friday December 18th, 2020 (weather and conditions permitting). The ski mountain will open with 7 trails (conditions permitting). We will continue to communicate as we have updates.

We continually monitor the direction from PA officials. Because the commonwealth does not dictate how businesses should implement the requirements for testing, Camelback Resort is leaving monitoring to government entities and we are not requiring any proof of testing at the resort.

The flexibility of our cancelation policy is reflected in the rate plan you purchased. If you cancel outside of 72 hours a $100 cancel fee is applied. We want to assure you that we are working to create a smooth and seamless process for everyone while practicing physical distancing with limited physical interactions.

There will be limited housekeeping services available upon request, however we have created a new procedure to ensure limited interaction between guests and employees. 

  • Should you need fresh linens, they will be provided to your room in a sealed bag along with a second bag for used linen. All used linen or towels are to be placed into the empty bag and left outside your door for housekeeping to collect. 
  • All guest amenities to be packaged before being placed in room.

The queue line will be physically distanced at 6 feet. In addition, signage with the Code of Conduct will be throughout the mountain area to reinforce messaging. Only parties that arrive together may ride together. Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the bottom and top of the lifts. Due to the proximity to each other at loading areas, guests are required to wear masks.

All lift tickets are to be purchased online. Guest must complete a waiver online too. There will be kiosks for guests to print and retrieve tickets once they arrive to the mountain. We will disinfect touch screens between each guest/group.

All chefs are ServSafe certified. This is a national program to teach safe-food preparation and handling.

  • Chemicals and safety protocol for all pools, rides and slides meet and exceed industry standards.

Our NEW food truck will be located at snowtubing this year, On a Roll and Tap Bar. All offerings are takeout only and alcohol must be purchased with an entrée. Face coverings are required to place order and physically distancing in line will be enforced.

If Camelback Resort must close due to COVID-19:

  • Ski/board pass or triple ticket will be valid through end of 2022 snow sports season if guest is unable to pick up pass this season.
  • Ski/board pass or triple ticket credit based on amount of time resort is closed will be applied in the 2021/22 season if guest has already picked up pass.

If resort is open and guest has COVID-related issues that make it impossible to use or pick up pass, the ski/board pass or triple ticket transferred to 2021/22 season.

If your reservation was cancelled (stays March 17 – June 11, 2020) and you wish to rebook at a future stay, we will honor your reservation. Availability for these new stays will be through April 1st, 2021. Please call 855.515.1283 and our reservations team will be happy to assist you. Queue lines and carpets physically distanced between family groups at 6 feet. Guests and associates required to wear facial coverings/masks at all times in the snowtubing area unless seated at a table to eat or drink. Gloves are recommended for all guests. (Regular winter gloves are sufficient). Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the bottom and top of the lifts. Tubes will be sanitized at the end of each day.

  • Appointments are spaced out with additional time in between to properly sanitize each treatment room
  • All work stations will be disinfected after each treatment
  • Plastic sheets will be placed over all treatment tables
  • Guests will change directly in the treatment room before the technician enters
  • Facials, face treatments, face waxing, and stone massages are currently unavailable
  • Technicians are required to wear facemasks at all times

Upon arrival to the property all guests, vendors and employees will go through a wellness screening at the main entrance. This will include observation for overt symptoms and taking each person’s temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer. 

Our staff will discreetly offer a secondary wellness screening by a Camelback EMT. There a second temperature reading will be taken, should there be a fever, the party will be directed to medical care and provided with information based on the CDC, State and Local guidance. No one within the party will be given access to the resort. Should this take place Camelback will provide a refund for the guest’s stay.

YES! The new year holds plenty of splash-tastic times, so start planning your indoor waterpark adventure. Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is open daily from 10am – 9pm.

As of January 4, 2021 many of the PA state mandates will be expiring. We are very excited to announce that NO areas will be closed due to COVID mandates. Indoor dining is limited to 50% capacity and masks must be worn on property at all times.

Ski and snowboard rentals must be purchased online and guests must complete all required paperwork online. To ensure safe physical distance and to prevent overcrowding, guests will be provided with an appointment time to pick up equipment. The number of guests inside the rental shop will be limited to accommodate proper physical distancing set by PA mandates. Face coverings/masks are required while in the rental shop. Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the rental shop.

Boots and helmets will be disinfected with an EPA approve COVID killing disinfectant after use and before reuse. Ski pole hand grips will be disinfected before reissue. Equipment returns will be contactless, guest will drop equipment off in a designated area.

For winter activities there is a $10 fee to park, $30-40 for premium parking – follow payment instructions on lot signage. Lodge guests please display your parking permit which will be issued at check in.

For the health and comfort of all our guests, we do not allow any pets into the Lodge. Service animals as defined by the ADA are allowed in all areas of the resort. For the health and safety of our guests, services animals are not allowed in the pools and attractions of the waterpark.

Your adventure doesn’t have to end when you leave Aquatopia, but shoes, shirt and/or swim suit cover­ups are required when walking through the lobby, dining in any restaurant, or any public area outside of Aquatopia.

Yes, quiet hours are from 11:00PM-7:00AM. For the comfort and enjoyment of all guests, we ask that you please keep noise levels to a minimum during these hours.

Camelback Lodge and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is a non smoking facility. This includes all guest rooms, meeting rooms, patios and balconies. Designated smoking areas are located outside of the Lodge.

Guests are free to enjoy outside food & beverage in their guest rooms. Outside food & beverage is not permitted inside Aquatopia. Restaurant and concession seating areas are for Lodge Food and Beverage use only. Outside food and beverage, pizza parties or small group gatherings, are not permitted in these areas, unless authorized through the Camelback Lodge Group Sales office.

If you will be arriving by car, at the lodge a standard overnight self-parking is $25 per night/vehicle plus tax, which will be applied at check in. Permit must be displayed until departure and is valid in all lots. For day guests visiting the Ski Mountain, Aquatopia, Snowtubing Park, Camelbeach or Mountain Adventures there is a $10 fee to park and at the Ski Mountain/Camelbeach there is $30-40 for premium parking lots (rates vary and depend upon availability) – follow payment instructions on lot signage. This Contract is between Camelback Resort, its Owners, Operators and Lessors: CMBK Resort Holdings, LLC, CMBK Resort Operations, LLC, KSL Camelback Management, LLC, EPT Ski Properties, Inc., the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and their respective owners, officers, directors, partners, members, investors, operators, management companies, agents, servants and employees (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Camelback”).

I understand and acknowledge that the recreational activities, and use of all associated equipment, rented or otherwise, at Camelback involve inherent risks and other risks associated with the participation in such activities, all of which can result in or cause serious and even fatal injuries.  I further understand and acknowledge that there are inherent and other risks in winter sports, including the sports of skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing, and other snow-related activities (hereinafter referred to collectively as “winter sports”), including the use of lifts and other forms of conveyance. These risks include, but are not limited to, slip-and-falls, variations in snow, steepness and terrain, trail side drop-offs, ice and icy conditions, moguls, rocks, trees, and other forms of forest growth or debris (above or below the surface), bare spots, lift towers, utility lines, poles and guy wires, snowmaking equipment and component parts, trail fences and control nets, and the absence of such fences and nets, Terrain Park features and elements (such as halfpipe, jumps, rails, rollers, hits, etc.), and other forms of natural or manmade obstacles on and/or off designated trails, as well as collisions with equipment, including snowmobiles, obstacles or other skiers, participants or observers.  I understand trail fences are located along the side of some but not all of the trails, as well as along paths and walkways; such fences are not designed to protect you from injury if you run into them or go through, over or under them.  Likewise, I understand trail conditions, paths and walkways vary constantly because of weather changes and skier use.  I understand that a helmet does NOT ELIMINATE THE RISK of injury or death and helmets have only limited capability for shock absorption and that, although the helmet may reduce or mitigate the severity of injuries to the head, it is not a guarantee of the participant’s safety.  I understand that all of the inherent and other risks of participating in winter sports present the risk of injury, including death, that winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing are DANGEROUS, risk sports, and that injuries can be serious and even fatal.  Lastly, I understand and acknowledge there are inherent risks in the participation in or on any amusement ride, device or attraction (hereinafter “amusement ride(s)”) at Camelback.  I understand that patrons of amusement rides, by participation, accept the risks inherent in such amusement rides of which the ordinary prudent person is or should be aware.  I understand I have a duty to exercise good judgment and act in a responsible manner while using the amusement rides and to obey all oral or written warnings, prior to or during participation.  I also understand I have a duty to refrain from participating in or on any amusement rides while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Finally, I understand I have a duty to properly use all amusement ride safety equipment.

CAUTION- Some or all of our amusement rides may not be suitable for patrons with heart conditions or neck or back problems or pregnant women.  Please know your limitations.  If you choose to participate, you do so at your own risk. 

IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING ALLOWED TO USE CAMELBACK’S FACILITIES, I AGREE THAT I WILL NOT SUE CAMELBACK AND WILL RELEASE CAMELBACK FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY IF I OR ANY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY IS INJURED WHILE USING ANY OF THE CAMELBACK FACILITIES OR WHILE BEING PRESENT AT THE FACILITIES, EVEN IF I CONTEND THAT SUCH INJURIES ARE THE RESULT OF NEGLIGENCE, SOLE OR JOINT, INCLUDING GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY OTHER IMPROPER CONDUCT FOR WHICH A RELEASE IS NOT CONTRARY TO PUBLIC POLICY, ON THE PART OF CAMELBACK. I FURTHER AGREE THAT I WILL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS CAMELBACK FROM ANY LOSS, LIABILITY, DAMAGE OR COST OF ANY KIND THAT MAY OCCUR AS THE RESULT OF ANY INJURY TO MYSELF, TO ANY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY OR TO ANY PERSON FOR WHOM I AM SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF IT IS CONTENDED THAT SUCH INJURIES ARE THE RESULT OF NEGLIGENCE, SOLE OR JOINT, INCLUDING GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY OTHER IMPROPER CONDUCT FOR WHICH A RELEASE IS NOT CONTRARY TO PUBLIC POLICY, ON THE PART OF CAMELBACK. I FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS AGREEMENT EXTENDS TO MY PRESENCE AT CAMELBACK PURSUANT TO ALL COMPLIMENTARY, PURCHASED, TRADES, EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTED AND VOLUNTEER DISCOUNTED TICKETS OR ANY OTHER TICKETS, PASSES, OR CARDS, PROMOTIONAL OR OTHERWISE, THAT I HAVE OR MAY OBTAIN.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if I sue Camelback, I agree that I will only bring suit, whether it be on my own behalf or on behalf of a family member, in the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County or in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and further agree that any and all disputes which might arise between Camelback and myself and/or my family member(s) shall be litigated exclusively in one of said Courts.   I understand and agree that this Agreement Not to Sue is governed by the laws of Pennsylvania.  I further agree that if any part of this Agreement Not to Sue is determined to be unenforceable, all other parts shall be given full force and effect.

THE PURCHASER OR USER OF ANY TICKET, WHETHER TO PARTICIPATE IN A SPORT OR AMUSEMENT RIDE, VOLUNTARILY ASSUMES THE INHERENT RISKS OF INJURY WHILE PARTICIPATING IN SAID SPORT OR THE RISKS IDENTIFIED WITH PARTICIPATING IN SAID AMUSEMENT RIDE.

General Safety Protocols

Yes. Face coverings are required in all Public Areas at the resort, this includes indoor and outdoor areas. Camelback Resort is following all CDC and state guidelines. It is now required by the state of Pennsylvania. The only exception to this is when you are seated at a table to eat or drink, if you are seated at a table without food or beverage you must wear a face covering.

All chefs are ServSafe certified. This is a national program to teach safe-food preparation and handling.

We have created the highest standards to ensure physical distancing. The beauty of Camelback Resort is the breadth of our campus – sprawling across 166 acres with plenty of open space, incredible outdoor activities and exciting adventures in the fresh mountain air. We have exclusive areas to accommodate private gatherings for you, your friends and your families.

Camelback Resort Team Members will undergo COVID Safety & Sanitation Protocol Training before guest arrive on site. 

  • Appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be worn by all employees based on their role and responsibilities and in adherence with state or local regulations and guidance. 
  • All associates will be provided a mask and required to wear that mask while on property. 
  • Gloves will be provided to associates whose responsibilities require them as determined by medical experts including housekeeping, public area attendants and security officers in direct contact with guests. 

Upon arrival to the property all guests, vendors and employees will go through a wellness screening at the main entrance. This will include observation for overt symptoms and taking each person’s temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer. 

Our staff will discreetly offer a secondary wellness screening by a Camelback EMT. There a second temperature reading will be taken, should there be a fever, the party will be directed to medical care and provided with information based on the CDC, State and Local guidance. No one within the party will be given access to the resort. Should this take place Camelback will provide a refund for the guest’s stay.

We want to assure you that we are working to create a smooth and seamless process for everyone while practicing physical distancing with limited physical interactions. 

  • Clear plexiglass barriers installed at each front desk workstation and at the concierge desk.
  • Guests will be advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups of people not traveling with them while standing in lines, using elevators or moving around the property.

If you will be arriving by car, at the lodge a standard overnight self-parking is $25 per night/vehicle plus tax, which will be applied at check in. Permit must be displayed until departure and is valid in all lots. For day guests visiting the Ski Mountain, Aquatopia, Snowtubing Park, Camelbeach or Mountain Adventures there is a $10 fee to park and at the Ski Mountain/Camelbeach there is $30-40 for premium parking lots (rates vary and depend upon availability) – follow payment instructions on lot signage. Lodge guests please display your parking permit which will be issued at check in.

This parking policy gives the ability to ensure that we may offer appropriate and safe parking for all of our guests, monitor/control the flow of traffic and assist in continuing to make parking lot improvements at the resort. Ensuring a smooth and safe process for all our guests.

We continually monitor the direction from PA officials. Because the commonwealth does not dictate how businesses should implement the requirements for testing, Camelback Resort is leaving monitoring to government entities and we are not requiring any proof of testing at the resort.

The flexibility of our cancelation policy is reflected in the rate plan you purchased. If you cancel outside of 72 hours a $100 cancel fee is applied. Yes, Camelback Lodge is an advance deposit hotel. To guarantee your reservation, we require the first night’s lodging, taxes, and resort fee to be billed to a major credit card at the time of booking. The same credit card must be presented along with a valid photo ID at the time of check-­in. The credit card will remain on file during your stay, so if any incidental charges are placed to the room from any of the resort amenities, it will be charged at check-­out. If you wish to pay by cash or another credit card, please be sure to settle with the front desk prior to 11 am on the day of check-­out.

All Seasonal Adventures are weather permitting and follow Camelback weather policy. Winter Seasonal Adventures opening day are dependant upon weather for the 2020-2021 Ski/snowtubing Season.

Ski

Face coverings are required in all Public Areas at the resort, this includes indoor and outdoor areas. Camelback Resort is following all CDC and state guidelines. It is now required by the state of Pennsylvania.

Yes and Yes again! Under the new Camelback Ski & Ride Academy, we have SnowPro Group and SnowPro Private lessons. These lessons will be located at Mountain Village (formerly known as Camelback Ski Mountain Base Area). These will be available for purchase online.

We continue to follow Pennsylvania Skier Association and PA State guidance. Currently there are no restrictions for occupancy. With over 167 skiable acres with 39 trails at Camelback and each trial averages 4 acres there is plenty of space for everyone to practice physical distancing. We plan to open all Snow sports on Friday December 18th, 2020 (weather and conditions permitting). The ski mountain will open with 7 trails (conditions permitting). We will continue to communicate as we have updates.

We continually monitor the direction from PA officials. Because the commonwealth does not dictate how businesses should implement the requirements for testing, Camelback Resort is leaving monitoring to government entities and we are not requiring any proof of testing at the resort.

Outside food & beverage is not permitted in restaurant and concession seating areas. These areas are for mountain’s Food and Beverage use only. Outside food and beverage, pizza parties or small group gatherings, are not permitted in these areas, unless authorized through the Camelback Lodge Group Sales office. There is no glass whatsoever allowed at the base of the mountain. We do allow sealed bottles of water and baby formula (as long as it’s not in a glass container).

Reservations are non-refundable. Lesson reservations can be changed up to 24 hours in advance with no fee or penalty provided they are rescheduled for the current season.

If you plan on going on the snow, yes you have to have a lift ticket.

Yes! Camelback Lodge is the premier ski-in, ski-out, slopeside Lodge in Pennsylvania. The Stevenson high-speed quad lift, Raceway Triple Lift & The Glen Lift access a variety of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain along with Camelback’s terrain park. Trails End Bar & Grille at Camelback Lodge sits just steps away from the snow and the Stevenson high-speed quad lift. 

The queue line will be physically distanced at 6 feet. In addition, signage with the Code of Conduct will be throughout the mountain area to reinforce messaging. Only parties that arrive together may ride together. Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the bottom and top of the lifts. Due to the proximity to each other at loading areas, guests are required to wear masks.

All lift tickets are to be purchased online. Guest must complete a waiver online too. There will be kiosks for guests to print and retrieve tickets once they arrive to the mountain. We will disinfect touch screens between each guest/group.

Inventory on our platform may have tickets and passes “market-priced,” so ticket and fee prices may adjust over time based on demand. This is similar to how airline tickets and some live event tickets are sold and is commonly referred to as “Dynamic Pricing.”

Ski resorts across the country use a universal trail rating system. It’s your responsibility to stay on terrain that you can handle, and avoid terrain that you cannot handle. The rating system utilizes four shapes to designate trail difficulty:

Orange Circle: Learn Right.

Green Circle: Beginner

Blue Square: More Difficult.

Black Diamond: Most Difficult.

Double Diamond: Extremely Difficult.

Arrive early enough so you wont be rushed. On weekends and during prime (holiday) periods, plan to arrive at Camelback’s main ticket plaza at least 90 minutes prior to your lesson start time. On (non-holiday) midweek days, we plan to arrive at the ticket plaza 60 minutes prior to your lesson start time. Remember… earlier is always better!

If you are bringing your own gear to our Pocono ski resort, make sure to transport them in the proper way, this will make your trip from the parking lot to the ski resorts’ base area much easier:

Skis:

Place the skis base-to-base, with the brakes locked together. If you’re outdoors and have plenty of space, carry the skis on a shoulder, with the ski tips in your hand. Your other hand is free to carry your poles (and boots unless you’ve changed footwear at your car). When indoors or near other people, carry the skis upright, with the tips pointing up and your hand below the binding toe piece.

Snowboard:

Boarders have the advantage of more comfortable boots. Tuck your board under one arm like a stack of books and you’re on your way.

If you will be arriving by car, at the lodge a standard overnight self-parking is $25 per night/vehicle plus tax, which will be applied at check in. Permit must be displayed until departure and is valid in all lots. For day guests visiting the Ski Mountain, Aquatopia, Snowtubing Park, Camelbeach or Mountain Adventures there is a $10 fee to park and at the Ski Mountain/Camelbeach there is $30-40 for premium parking lots (rates vary and depend upon availability) – follow payment instructions on lot signage. Lodge guests please display your parking permit which will be issued at check in.

This parking policy gives the ability to ensure that we may offer appropriate and safe parking for all of our guests, monitor/control the flow of traffic and assist in continuing to make parking lot improvements at the resort. Ensuring a smooth and safe process for all our guests.

While borrowing a friend’s skis or snowboard sounds like a good way to save money, having properly fit gear is well worth it. You need gear that is appropriate for your skill level and that has been tested and maintained for safety and performance. Rentals will give you a much better experience.  Not to mention, you don’t have to schlep rental equipment all over the place.  You simply return it at the end of your day!

Yes! The best way to set yourself up for a successful first-time experience is to schedule a lesson with one of our talented snow pros. They will help introduce you to the sport in a safe and energetic manner. They will also get you out on the hill enjoying the whole mountain faster than you could on your own. Having said that, if you want to try things on your own, consider the Coolmar experience. The Coolmar experience is a protected area away from all the fast skiers and riders where you can develop the fundamental skills at your own pace. The snow in this area is shaped to give novice level skiers and riders high level sensations in a safe environment. The best part about the Coolmar experience is that we have coaches stationed throughout the area ready to help should you get a bit stuck.

Ski (and Snowboard) boots should be snug without being uncomfortable.  They should feel like a strong hug or firm handshake without being tight or painful.  Both kinds of boots are stiffer than a regular shoe for both performance and safety purposes.  One key to success is the correct sock! Changing into a dry, mid-weight technical sock when you put on your boots can make a huge difference in how long your feet stay warm and dry.

Always stay in control and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.

People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.

You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.

Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.

Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.

Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.

Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely.

At each and every ski resort, this Skier Responsibility Code is taken very seriously. Any failure to ski responsibly, and to use good judgment and common sense, can result in the revocation of skiing privileges. There typically isn’t much tolerance for those who disobey the rules. Be aware, that in many cases, state law becomes involved in flagrant violation of boundary restrictions and unreported collisions.

Most importantly, if everyone follows the Responsibility Code and adheres to these basic safety tips, a good and safe time can be had by everyone on the slopes.

Boot Fitting:

Both ski and snowboard boots are designed to hold your foot snugly to the surface of your skis or snowboard. Any movement of the foot within the boot translates into loss of control and lessens performance.

For the best fit, make sure you:

Wear only one pair of socks.

Pull up your pant gaiter and the cuff of your first layer.

Do not tuck your first layer into your boots.

Ski Boots are engineered to fit snugly. The critical area is the heel, which needs to be held tightly into the “heel cup” of the boot. Slide your foot into the boot, making sure that the tongue is pulled forward and out of the way. Push downwards on the heel of the boot to properly set your heel into the cup. Latch the buckles to a comfortable tightness, starting at the bottom and working your way up. Buckles may be readjusted after all have been fastened. Pay particular attention to the buckles on top of the instep of the foot as they hold your heel in place. When you stand up, your toes should have just enough room to wiggle. Press into the front of the boot by bending your knees. If your heel lifts up and out of the heel cup, the boots are too big. Camelback staff can be found in most locations throughout the ski resort and will be happy to assist you.

Snowboard boots fit differently than ski boots. First you open the boot bladder wide and slide your foot into the boot. Use the pull loops to get the boot onto your foot. Slide the lace lock down while tightening the inner laces until the fit is snug but comfortable. Now tighten the outer laces as tight as possible. If done properly, your toes will almost be touching the end of the boot. Stand up, bend your knees and make sure your toes are snug, but not cramped. Make sure your heel is being grabbed by the boot bladder and not lifting. As always, if you have questions or need assistance, look for any of our staff in an orange jacket or Blue Jacket with the Camelback Mountain logo. They can be found all around the ski resort and will be happy to assist you.

Ski/Snowboard Length:

Correct length is a correlation of your height, weight and ability level. Modern shaped skis and snowboards turn much more easily than those of just a few years ago.

Are You Goofy?:

Snowboarders have to decide on their stance on the board. Most people are right-foot dominant, meaning their right leg is their “balance” foot. In this case, the right foot goes in the back binding, facing the rider to the right on the board. This is known as a “regular” stance. Some people are left-foot dominant, and ride facing the left side of the board…this is known as “goofy” stance. Here’s how to tell which foot is dominant before you even set foot on the ski resort. If you run and slide on a linoleum floor in your socks, whichever foot goes second is your balance foot. This is the foot that does most of the work by supporting the majority of your weight.

Helmets:

Most snowboarders choose to wear helmets for a variety of reasons. Because beginner boarders tend to fall backwards a lot, helmets should be strongly considered. Advanced boarders like to do tricks which greatly increases the level of risk in the sport. Beginner skiers; however, tend to ski at slow speeds, and falls are usually forward or to one side. We suggest that you consider helmet use and make an informed, educated decision.

With certain PA state mandates expiring, we are incredibly excited to be reopening indoor dining at 50% capacity! We’re more than ready to welcome our guests back inside for the dining experiences we’ve all been missing recently. In addition to indoor seating, we will continue offering outdoor seating in our heated tents at Trails End Pub & Grille, Berrelli’s Italian Chophouse, Summit House and throughout the Mountain Village ski area. If Camelback Resort must close due to COVID-19:

  • Ski/board pass or triple ticket will be valid through end of 2022 snow sports season if guest is unable to pick up pass this season.
  • Ski/board pass or triple ticket credit based on amount of time resort is closed will be applied in the 2021/22 season if guest has already picked up pass.

If resort is open and guest has COVID-related issues that make it impossible to use or pick up pass, the ski/board pass or triple ticket transferred to 2021/22 season.

Skiing and snowboarding can be very physically demanding sports. If you are an athletic person that plays sports, chances are that you are in pretty good condition to ski or ride. Just remember to pace yourself. You do not have to push yourself to the limits. If you get tired, take a break and catch your breath, this way you can get your second wind and get out there again and again.

You’ve made it to the snow! Now the fun begins. The instructors at our ski resort are trained to do one thing…teach. All of our instructors are trained to teach first-time lessons in a very specific, effective method. You’ll start out by doing exercises to develop your balance and get you accustomed to the feeling of sliding, with a focus on teaching you to feel the ski or snowboards “edge.” Edge control is what the game is all about. By going through these simple exercises, you will quickly learn how to do the two rudimentary actions needed to progress…stopping when and where you want, and turning when and where you want.

You shouldn’t expect miracles your first time out. As we’ve said earlier, it takes three lessons for most people to reach the point where they can start to explore the mountain a little bit.

Stay Focused:

It’s important that you pay attention to your instructor. While the exercises may seem a bit repetitive, they are important in the big picture. Not everyone learns at the same pace, mostly because some people are naturally more athletic than others. Those who enjoy summer activities like surfing, skating or skateboarding, will have a distinct edge over those who don’t, but you can do it!

The important thing to remember is not to overdo it. We don’t recommend a trip to the top of the mountain after your first visit…you probably won’t be ready for it. Spend some time on our ski resort’s learning trails practicing the exercises you learned in your lesson. Save the trip to the top for another day, when you’re more prepared.

Clothing that will absorb water. Stay away from the denim jeans and knit gloves. If these articles of clothing get wet they will not dry fast. Just remember Wet = Cold and Cold = No Fun.

Playing in the snow at Camelback, whether you’re skiing, snowboarding or tubing, is fantastic winter fun! Dressing to stay warm is the secret to an enjoyable day at Camelback in the Winter.  Read our how to dress guide below:

Dress in Several Thin Layers
The first layer should be a wicking material to keep moisture away from the skin. For colder days, a fleece top or jacket, or a cotton turtleneck make a good second layer. Kids’ feet should stay dry too! Moisture-wicking socks work great for this purpose. Kids should wear one pair of socks, not more. Multiple pairs wrinkle and bunch up in the boot, causing discomfort.

Waterproof Pants & Jacket
Staying dry while playing in the snow is of the utmost importance. Once the clothes are wet, staying warm is virtually impossible. Remember, there is a difference between “water resistant” clothing and “waterproof” clothing. You can’t always tell by looking. The product descriptions will specify what level of water protection the clothing provides. Depending on how cold it is, you might want to have your child’s pants and jacket both waterproof and insulated for warmth. In Spring conditions, insulation might be too warm.

Waterproof Gloves or Mittens 
Just like clothing, not all gloves or mittens are waterproof. The product description will specify if they are waterproof. It has been our experience that mittens are better for young kids. Once kids are old enough to have the dexterity to benefit from each finger, gloves may be a better choice.  Mittens are always warmer than gloves.

Goggles or Sunglasses with UV400 Protection
Children may not be as interested as adults are in the fashion aspect of “fashion eyewear”. But because kids spend much more time than most adults do outdoors and in direct sunlight, protecting kids’ eyes from ultraviolet light is especially important.
In fact, many experts believe that our eyes get 80 percent of their total lifetime exposure to the sun’s UV rays by age 18. Since excessive lifetime exposure to UV radiation has been linked to the development of cataracts/other eye problems, it’s never too early for kids to begin wearing good quality sunglasses or goggles outdoors. Lenses in kids’ sunglasses should be clearly marked as capable of providing 100 percent UV protection, with UV400 rated lenses.  For many people, goggles are a necessity when it’s snowing or windy.  In very cold weather they provide added warmth by covering the face.  Additionally, since they attach to the helmet, they are less likely to get lost than sunglasses.

Helmet (for Skiing and Snowboarding)
For all the same reasons your children wear bike helmets, ski helmets are essential for winter safety. If your child wears a ski helmet, remember you may have to raise your voice more to get their attention because the helmet may impede their hearing. Make sure the helmet fits correctly. A ski helmet is not an item you buy for your child to grow into. Educate your child about the benefits and limitations of the helmet. Wearing a helmet doesn’t give permission to ski/snowboard faster or recklessly. If you’re unable to buy one, we do rent helmets for kids.  Call our Snowsports School to learn more. If you’re not planning on using a helmet be sure to wear a warm hat. Kids should wear a hat or headband; 80 percent of heat-loss is through the head.

Plenty of Sunscreen and/or Face Covering
Be sure kids wear sun protection, even on cloudy days. The sun reflects off the snow and is stronger than you think! A ski vacation with a sun burn is no fun, trust us. Sunscreen also reduces evaporation and therefore helps prevent frostbite on very cold days.  A balaclava, face mask or scarf is the best protection against frostbite.  Lastly, winter air is very dry which greatly increases the chance of chapped lips. Plenty of lip balm is a necessity to avoid chapped lips!

Ticket Sales/Guest Services:

This is the first place you will stop at the ski resort. Whether you bought tickets online or still need to purchase them, you will need to get your lift ticket here. Lift tickets allow you access to the lifts and the slopes. Expect to show it to the lift attendant every time you board a lift. Attach it to something easily visible, but not someplace right next to your face. Avoid attaching it to your jacket’s principal zipper, as when the zipper is pulled up to your neck, the ticket may flap in your face on your way down the hill. Most ski jackets have a lift ticket loop somewhere on the front. A jacket pocket zipper is often a convenient attachment place. Make sure to attach it to something you’ll wear all day… not on a glove or a hat. If you have questions or need assistance look for any of our ski resort staff in an orange jacket with the Camelback Mountain logo and they will be happy to assist you.

Restrooms:

Restrooms are conveniently located in multiple areas around the ski resort. The closest restrooms to Ticket Sales/Guest Services Center are to the right in the breezeway by the Tune-Up Center.

Rental Shop:

After leaving ticket sales, you will proceed to one of our two state-of-the-art rental facilities, conveniently located adjacent to ticket sales. On weekends and holidays if you have purchased one Camelback’s Learn To Ski or Snowboard Packages, you will be directed to our Discovery Center.

Yes and Yes! A new location was decided on for Kids Learning Center which has also been renamed SnowClub Kids Lessons under Camelback Ski & Ride Academy. All lines for ski school will form outside of the Adventure Basecamp building (formerly known as Camelback Mountain Adventures). For SnowClub, children only with one parent/guardian will be permitted inside. Face coverings are required. Six feet of physical distancing will be maintained at all times. Only members of the same household are permitted to ride the chair lift together. Students and instructors will ride on the opposite side of the quad when possible. All equipment and facilities will be regularly sanitized and disinfected.

Kids lessons range from 4-12 years old. 13 and up can go into adult lessons.

As a beginner, you should have reasonable expectations about your first day out at the ski resort. Hopefully, many of the things below will give you a better idea of what to expect. But there are some important basics to be prepared for:

  • Pace yourself and set reasonable expectations, focus on fun.
  • Learning something new is not always easy, but it will be rewarding and exciting when you succeed.
  • Everyone learns at a different pace.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask your instructor questions, they are there to help you learn.

The good news is that, after the first day or two, most of these problems go away. Even on the first couple of days, you can still find a lot of space for enjoyment at the ski resort, but that depends on a host of other important details. How good or bad your first day is depends on attitude going into your lesson. If you think it’s fun, it will be. So, HAVE FUN!

Moderate sized Group Lessons offered at the ski resort are appropriate for all ability levels and focus to hone and polish your skills (every lesson grouped by age and skill set.)

It’s tempting to borrow equipment from friends or family, especially when the boots actually seem to fit your feet. But you’re better off renting. Here’s why: all of our beginner equipment is designed for beginners specifically. They’re specifically engineered to turn more easily and are more forgiving than either upper level or budget equipment. Our rental staff will make sure that your boots will properly match your feet; if you need a half size up or down, we can accommodate you. Your first time out should be enjoyable and productive. The beginner packages we offer at our ski resort include ski or snowboard rental equipment specifically matched to your size and stature. If any of the Camelback rental equipment doesn’t fit or feel right, come back to the rental shops to exchange for equipment that fits and feels correct.

Changing into a dry, mid-weight technical sock when you put on your boots can make a huge difference in how long your feet stay warm and dry.

It’s tempting to borrow equipment from friends or family, especially when the boots actually seem to fit your feet. But you’re better off renting. Here’s why: all of our beginner equipment is designed for beginners specifically. They’re specifically engineered to turn more easily and are more forgiving than either upper level or budget equipment. Our rental staff will make sure that your boots will properly match your feet; if you need a half size up or down, we can accommodate you. Your first time out should be enjoyable and productive. The beginner packages we offer at our ski resort include ski or snowboard rental equipment specifically matched to your size and stature. If any of the Camelback rental equipment doesn’t fit or feel right, come back to the rental shops to exchange for equipment that fits and feels correct.

Ski and snowboard rentals must be purchased online and guests must complete all required paperwork online. To ensure safe physical distance and to prevent overcrowding, guests will be provided with an appointment time to pick up equipment. The number of guests inside the rental shop will be limited to accommodate proper physical distancing set by PA mandates. Face coverings/masks are required while in the rental shop. Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the rental shop.

Boots and helmets will be disinfected with an EPA approve COVID killing disinfectant after use and before reuse. Ski pole hand grips will be disinfected before reissue. Equipment returns will be contactless, guest will drop equipment off in a designated area.

Ski Lessons

Yes and Yes again! Under the new Camelback Ski & Ride Academy, we have SnowPro Group and SnowPro Private lessons. These lessons will be located at Mountain Village (formerly known as Camelback Ski Mountain Base Area). These will be available for purchase online.

Reservations are non-refundable. Lesson reservations can be changed up to 24 hours in advance with no fee or penalty provided they are rescheduled for the current season.

All lift tickets are to be purchased online. Guest must complete a waiver online too. There will be kiosks for guests to print and retrieve tickets once they arrive to the mountain. We will disinfect touch screens between each guest/group.

After your lesson, if you feel like exploring trails that are more difficult you can upgrade your beginner lift ticket to a full mountain lift ticket for a discounted price of $46.

While borrowing a friend’s skis or snowboard sounds like a good way to save money, having properly fit gear is well worth it. You need gear that is appropriate for your skill level and that has been tested and maintained for safety and performance. Rentals will give you a much better experience.  Not to mention, you don’t have to schlep rental equipment all over the place.  You simply return it at the end of your day!

Yes! The best way to set yourself up for a successful first-time experience is to schedule a lesson with one of our talented snow pros. They will help introduce you to the sport in a safe and energetic manner. They will also get you out on the hill enjoying the whole mountain faster than you could on your own. Having said that, if you want to try things on your own, consider the Coolmar experience. The Coolmar experience is a protected area away from all the fast skiers and riders where you can develop the fundamental skills at your own pace. The snow in this area is shaped to give novice level skiers and riders high level sensations in a safe environment. The best part about the Coolmar experience is that we have coaches stationed throughout the area ready to help should you get a bit stuck.

Snowtubing

Face coverings are required in all Public Areas at the resort, this includes indoor and outdoor areas. Camelback Resort is following all CDC and state guidelines. It is now required by the state of Pennsylvania.

When you get your tube at the bottom of the hill you will drag it to the magic carpet which will take you and your tube to the top of the park.

Reservations are strongly suggested for snowtubing. You can purchase tickets and book your times online to secure your spot.

Inventory on our platform may have tickets and passes “market-priced,” so ticket and fee prices may adjust over time based on demand. This is similar to how airline tickets and some live event tickets are sold and is commonly referred to as “Dynamic Pricing.”

Our NEW food truck will be located at snowtubing this year, On a Roll and Tap Bar. All offerings are takeout only and alcohol must be purchased with an entrée. Face coverings are required to place order and physically distancing in line will be enforced.

Queue lines and carpets physically distanced between family groups at 6 feet. Guests and associates required to wear facial coverings/masks at all times in the snowtubing area unless seated at a table to eat or drink. Gloves are recommended for all guests. (Regular winter gloves are sufficient). Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the bottom and top of the lifts. Tubes will be sanitized at the end of each day.

Here’s what we recommend in the colder months.
Pants:
Insulated snow pants and a snug fitting base layer (long underwear) are highly recommended for your comfort. By the way, don’t tuck your pants into your boots. Snow pants are designed to fit over the tops of your boots. The only things that go inside your boots are your feet and your socks. Good waterproof pants are invaluable!

Tops:
A long-sleeved shirt (a turtle neck is a great idea) with a sweater and medium weight jacket offers a variety of options should the temperature change on the ski resort. On very cold days, a layer of long underwear worn on the upper body is a great insulator and may always be removed if conditions warrant. A winter jacket with armpit vents can be very effective at regulating body temperature.

Cover your head! Your body loses 80% of its heat through your head. A hat is essential! A warm wool or fleece hat is ideal. Don’t sweat “hat hair”… you can fix it after the last run and before you head out for drinks and dinner.

Footwear:
Wear one pair of light to medium weight socks! Also we recommend you wear boots/warm waterproof shoes. Your boots are designed to keep you warm. Don’t cut off circulation to your toes or start your feet sweating with heavy socks. You may want to bring an extra pair to swap out during the day to keep you comfortable.

Gloves/Mittens:

Personal preference rules here. Generally, mittens are warmer but restrict dexterity. Glove liners (available in our shop) are a viable option for some. Boarders tend to prefer long, waterproof mittens. Hand warmers (also available in our shop) are single-use pouches that produce heat for several hours and are used inside gloves or mittens.

Neck Wear:

Leave the long woolen scarf your grandmother knit for you at home. You’re much better off with a neck warmer, a non-allergenic fleece tube that slips over the head and keeps your neck toasty warm. This wonderful, inexpensive piece of apparel is actually long enough to be pulled up to cover your chin, mouth and nose.

Winter Weather:

Insulated long underwear or base layer is priceless. The best ones are made of high-tech synthetic materials, but inexpensive cotton-poly blends work fine as well.

Spa

Due to Health and Safety Regulations, food & beverages will not be available in the Spa. Please consider visiting one of the many dining options at Camelback Resort before or after your spa treatments.

Wedding

A typical deposit is equal to 25% of your food and beverage minimum which is based upon the size and scope of your event. Payments after that are usually around 9-months prior and 4-months prior which are 25% of your food and beverage minimum each. Final payment based upon your final headcount is due 1-month prior to your event date.

Yes, for a courtesy block (most popular for weddings), you are able to block a maximum of 10 rooms per night to start. If you fill this block on or before your block release date, which would be 45 days prior to your wedding, we can request to add more rooms based on the availability of rooms and the rate. All efforts are made to keep wedding rooms close together however it is not guaranteed.

Yes and Yes! A new location was decided on for Kids Learning Center which has also been renamed SnowClub Kids Lessons under Camelback Ski & Ride Academy. All lines for ski school will form outside of the Adventure Basecamp building (formerly known as Camelback Mountain Adventures). For SnowClub, children only with one parent/guardian will be permitted inside. Face coverings are required. Six feet of physical distancing will be maintained at all times. Only members of the same household are permitted to ride the chair lift together. Students and instructors will ride on the opposite side of the quad when possible. All equipment and facilities will be regularly sanitized and disinfected.

We continue to follow Pennsylvania Skier Association and PA State guidance. Currently there are no restrictions for occupancy. With over 167 skiable acres with 39 trails at Camelback and each trial averages 4 acres there is plenty of space for everyone to practice physical distancing. We plan to open all Snow sports on Friday December 18th, 2020 (weather and conditions permitting). The ski mountain will open with 7 trails (conditions permitting). We will continue to communicate as we have updates.

We continually monitor the direction from PA officials. Because the commonwealth does not dictate how businesses should implement the requirements for testing, Camelback Resort is leaving monitoring to government entities and we are not requiring any proof of testing at the resort.

The queue line will be physically distanced at 6 feet. In addition, signage with the Code of Conduct will be throughout the mountain area to reinforce messaging. Only parties that arrive together may ride together. Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the bottom and top of the lifts.
