Been skiing Camelback for ...

Been skiing Camelback for 35 years. Back then…pre “Quad” lift days …we would drive up, unload our gear…stuff it in the lockers at the base lodge…park, get geared up….and ski! Fast forward….2025. First time staying in this resort…happened to be a holiday weekend. Nice physical plant….the facilities are nice. Room was fine. Nothing special. Definitely convenient….ski in and out. But it was a zoo. A zoo. Resort staff was overwhelmed. Did I say it was a zoo? They did their best. When given time…they were pleasant, friendly and kind. As I said…holiday weekend…hurry up and wait. Retrieving our equipment from the in house valet was difficult…they were overwhelmed and could not find our equipment…30-40 minutes. High speed quads. The lifts??….lines lines lines…and L O N G. No ushers policing the lines. it’s no Deer Valley…and most people don’t seem to know ski etiquette….or want to use it…. The lift line is basically a free for all …did I say lines? I misspoke…a group mass. There is a buffet, a pizza place, two coffee shops and a bar that serves food as well…you will need to make reservations. Waited at least 30 minutes+ for morning coffee at the front lobby coffee shop…$$$! If your not eating in house….its a drive to any in town eatery…getting out from the room, hiking through the halls, hiking through the parking lot, the drive to a eatery, and finding parking spot when u return. We did see food deliveries to the lobby. The waterpark is a nice perk…it’s little cold inside. Loved the hot tub. All in all not sure if I would stay here again…. definitely not over a holiday weekend….for any price. But you can’t replace the convenience.

Overall, we’re enjoying our ...

Overall, we’re enjoying our stay—the property is beautiful and the staff is amazing—but I think Camelback should be more transparent about what “dog-friendly” actually means. While dogs are allowed to stay in the guest rooms (for an additional pet fee), they are not allowed in the restaurants, the indoor waterpark, or most of the attractions that make Camelback such a popular destination. The resort also states that dogs may not be left unattended in the room, which makes it even more challenging for pet owners to enjoy the amenities. The whole point of bringing your dog on vacation is to include them in the experience, not have to constantly plan around where they can and can’t be. To me, a truly dog-friendly resort offers more than just pet accommodations. It includes pet-friendly outdoor dining, walking trails, designated play areas, and spaces where dogs can spend time with their families. I appreciate that Camelback allows pets instead of requiring guests to leave them at home, but I think the term “dog-friendly” is a bit misleading. A more accurate description would be that pets are welcome to stay in guest rooms, but their access throughout the resort is very limited. If you’re traveling with your dog, just know that you’ll need to plan your time carefully since they can’t be left alone in the room and aren’t allowed in most areas of the resort. That wasn’t the experience we were expecting when we booked a “dog-friendly” resort.
