CAMELBACK CARES: NEW INITIATIVE TO THANK THOSE ON THE FRONTLINE

Goggles for Docs, Pocono Mountain Regional EMS Donation, Care Packages, Exclusive Thank You Rate for Frontline Workers and More

TANNERSVILLE, Penn. (April 16, 2020) – Camelback Cares is the new initiative created, organized and implemented by Camelback Resort to recognize, show appreciation for, aid and boost the spirits of valued people on the frontline and their own employees during this dangerous and stressful time.

Camelback Cares is participating in the Goggles for Docs program asking for the public to gather goggles for doctors, which are then donated to participating hospitals. Locals are encouraged to drop off donated goggles to the resort’s security team at the main resort entrance through April 30. Resort employees can donate goggles when they pick up their Employee Protection Care Packages on April 17. These care packages, assisted with donations from US Foods, are available via curbside drive-by to all resort employees and will contain household paper products, disinfectant wipes, granola bars, microwave popcorn and hand sanitizer made locally in partnership with Barley Creek Brewing Company. In addition, Camelback Cares has donated all its extra medical gloves and masks to the area’s vital Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services.

To brighten the day for employee children’s birthdays, the initiative will be throwing Mascot Birthday Surprise Appearances in the upcoming months. Birthday celebrants are treated to a visit in their own yard by Camelback Resort mascots Chuck or Cliff the Camel – complete with a little outdoor solo mascot dance party and balloons to decorate the outside of their house.

For the region’s frontline workers, Camelback Resort will offer an exclusive 15% savings for future guestroom rates through December 31, 2020. This special savings is for community caregivers, first responders, medical workers and other essential personnel. Also, Camelback Cares has purchased ten billboard spaces in Monroe County, Penn., one digital billboard in Pennsylvania and one in New Jersey proclaiming a heartfelt thank you to healthcare workers, and radio spots thanking frontliners will run on select New York City stations.
