Dec 16, 2020

Ski, Ride, Snowtubing, Outdoor Dining and Poconos’ Only Ski-in/Ski-out Lodge is Open

TANNERSVILLE, Penn. (December 16, 2020) – The 560-acre Camelback Resort officially announces its awaited-for snow sports to open on Friday, December 18, with the opening of six ski and snowboard trails and 11 snowtubing lanes – just in time for the holidays. The remaining 33 ski trails and 31 snowtubing lanes will open as weather conditions permit. The only ski-in/ski-out resort in the Poconos, Camelback is just 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from Philadelphia, offering lodging, outdoor dining and snow sports in compliance with CDC and Pennsylvania requirements.

New for Snow Adventure Seekers
Camelback Resort launches the new winter ski season with many enhancements for skiers, snowboarders and snowtubers of all levels and ages. The new Sunbowl Quad Lift transports skiers across the mountain to Camelback Village, also allowing for easy connectivity to the base of the mountain; and the new Snow Coaching at Coolmoor Run allows guests of all ages to refine their skills with a spot coach on deck in a safe, contained area. The newly enhanced Ski & Ride Academy offers three distinct instructional programs – for the kids, SnowClub offers half- and full-day sessions with professional instructors presenting the basics in a fun, attention-getting, kid-friendly manner; SnowPro Group is where families, groups of friends or other skiers can join a group to “learn right” from the start or to refresh their skills; and SnowPro Private offers one-on-one lessons curated to suit skiers of all levels. Lift tickets and snowtubing tickets are available online.

New Outdoor Dining Concepts
Exciting snow activities go together with fun, innovative outdoor dining experiences at Camelback. The new Tacos & Beer Truck at Camelback Mountain Village features street tacos and draft beers for hungry skiers and snowboarders. Summit House is a ski-in/ski-out restaurant where guests dine in an outdoor tented beer garden to feast on German-style bratwurst, sausages with beer cheese, Bavarian-style hot pretzels and more, along with a variety of German beers. Also, roaming between Camelback Snowtubing Park and the Lodge, there’s a new soup and sandwich themed food truck, “On a Roll,” hitched to “Tap Bar”, a draft beverage trailer, for prime dip sandwiches, bread bowl chili and chowder, along with beers and wines on tap, cocktails and hot beverages. There’s outdoor dining with new heated tents at Trails End Pub & Grille, and everyone’s favorite Berrelli’s. Opening on Monday, December 21, is Graffiti Pizza with its new create-your-own-pizzas menu and Sugar Shack for ice cream and sweets – both for takeout only according to state orders.

COVID-19 protocols: To provide an exclusive, safe and crowd-free experience, all snow adventure seekers will need to reserve their mountain activities by purchasing advanced lift tickets and passes online. Ski rentals and signed waivers will need to be completed online to minimize contact. Facial coverings will be required in all public spaces, including rental shops, while queuing for, loading and riding lifts. Parties traveling together will need to ride together; singles will need to ride alone. Sanitizing stations will be present at the top and bottom of each lift.
